Well, I had the fear this was going to happen.
The release of Chapter 11 will be postponed to an unknown date.
The reason? University's finals.
I was not able to write even a single phrase of the next chapter, since I spent all mornings and evenings studying until 10 PM, so I'm always too tired to brainstorm new ideas for my story when I close my books.
The good thing (If we can call it in that way) is that my last final for the months of June and July is set for the 22nd of July, so, until September finals will start, I'll surely have 8-9 days completely free from studying, so, at worst, I'll be able to write most (if not all) of the chapter in those days.
Until then, though, I highly doubt I'll be able to write anything. Medicine school is not easy, and it is also a 6 years course of studies here, so I really need to focus on my studies if I want to avoid spending 10 years to become a medic.
Please, bear with me a little longer.
TL;DR version: Had not the time to write the new chapter because of studies. Medic School is hard as ****. At worst, I'll start writing again on the 22nd of July. Please, be a little more patient.

… what is the sign that an Earth Pony is… well… "turned on"?
I mean, I can't remember in (almost) 2 years of being a brony that I ever seen something that was accepted by the majority/entirety of brony's community like the first two features.
I came to the conclusion that the only thing that may be adequate as an "action not dependent on the will of the subject" (if we can call it in that way) might be that Earth Ponies start to frantically shake their tails… you know, just how dogs do when they're really happy/excited.
I first though that they could start to blush, maybe with an intensity far superior than the other races (and because you can't control that either), but that's not something a pony of another race may not do as well.
So why "shaking the tail" for Earth Ponies? Can't Pegasi and Unicorns do that as well?
My theory is that when a pony becomes aroused/excited, an electrical impulse is sent from the brain through their bodies, but where in the other two races the impulse is redirected towards the nearest extremity (the horn and the wings), and is thus intercepted before reaching the back of their body, in Earth Ponies the impulse is free to run, so it reaches the tail and causes the shake.
What do you think? Is that some other feature that covers Earth Ponies that I may have missed in all these years?

As I warned you in the Author's Notes of chapter 8, I was going to experiment a bit with these 2 upcoming chapters and that I was going to try writing another type of genre.
Well, I didn't want to upset any of you in the middle of reading chapter 9, so, I'm gonna tell you in advance: the new genre I tried is romance.
Now, before you start to send hate mails and clicking the unfollow button (at least those of you who despise shipping/romance in general might be tempted to do so), let me be clear:
1) This ship doesn't involve Twixie (or Twilight X Trixie), so, all of you who feared that was going to be the case can take a a sigh of relief....All of you who were hoping for that to be the ship, sorry in advance.
2) There's no clop in it. Nothing. Nada. Niente. And there will never be. (sorry cloppers.)
3) This romance addition is not something I decided to write out of the blue, but it will be related to the development of the story... Chapter 9 will have very, very little romantic parts, while the majority of chapter 10 will probably be focused on that... I'll add a "Skip to this word" kind of note at the beginning of chapter 10 if you wish, so that if you don't want to read how the romance started between the two characters I choose you will just go back on the story related part. (Even though I would really like to have as many of you as possible to read that part.)
4) If you're going to tell me "I don't like this ship, I guess that X should love Y and no one else!", well, that's your opinion. Personally, I like every single ship ever made, as long as it's well written and makes sense ("Prince Blueblood immediately falling in love with Scootaloo after she saw her in Canterlot for the first time." is what i would consider poor, impalusible shipping material), so, if your OTP (One True Pairing) is not the one I decided to add in the story, please, avoid comments of that sort.
